HeARTful Artisans Project

HeARTful Artisans: Creativity Beyond Differences
HeARTful Artisans is Soul HeARTful’s inclusive artist collaboration initiative created to provide Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) with opportunities to discover their artistic strengths, develop creative skills and participate meaningfully in art-based projects.

We believe that ability and contribution do not have to look the same for everyone. While conventional employment may not suit every individual, creativity can provide another avenue for people to develop their strengths, contribute their talents and be recognised for what they can do.

Discovering Creative Strengths
The journey begins with our Artist Discovery & Training Sessions, where participants are introduced to different art materials, techniques, and creative processes in a supportive environment.

No previous art experience is required. Rather than expecting everyone to create in the same way, these sessions allow us to discover each participant's interests, abilities, and preferred ways of working while providing guidance to develop their skills.

From Learning to Collaboration
Participants who demonstrate interest and suitability may subsequently be invited to join Soul HeARTful as an Artist Collaborator for selected projects.

Collaboration opportunities are offered on an ad hoc, project-by-project basis. Depending on the project, artists may be trained to create specific artworks or contribute their own creative interpretation within the project's requirements.

Soul HeARTful provides the necessary training, guidance, and standard art materials for assigned projects. Each project will have its own requirements, timeline, and collaboration arrangements, which will be communicated to the artist before they decide whether to participate.

Creating Art With Purpose
Selected completed artworks may be showcased and offered for sale through Soul HeARTful's platforms, community events, exhibitions, and other suitable channels.

Where an artwork is successfully sold, proceeds will be shared between the Artist Collaborator and Soul HeARTful according to the arrangement stated for that project. A portion received by Soul HeARTful helps us sustain the NGO, provide materials and training, and continue developing inclusive opportunities for more individuals within the community.

More Than Creating Art
HeARTful Artisans is ultimately about more than producing something to sell.

It is about giving individuals opportunities to learn, practise, contribute, build confidence, and discover possibilities through creativity. We hope that every artist who journeys with us can experience the pride of seeing their ideas transformed into something meaningful and know that their abilities have value.

At Soul HeARTful, we choose to look beyond limitations and discover the possibilities that already exist within each individual.
